NRI Celebrates World Mental Health Day – October 10, 2024
As part of our ongoing commitment to promoting mental health and well-being, NRI is proud to recognize World Mental Health Day across our 20+ locations. With the theme of “Mental Health at Work,” this year we’re focusing on creating awareness around mental health and fostering a supportive environment for our team members. This day served as a powerful reminder of the connection between mental well-being and a nurturing work environment, which in turn fosters purpose, stability, and overall happiness for all of us.
Mental Health Fundraiser: In an effort to support initiatives close to our hearts, NRI is holding a raffle fundraiser. Team members from across the US and Canada have the opportunity to purchase tickets, with all proceeds going to the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA), and the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI).
Call to Be Kind: To further encourage mental well-being, NRI is introducing the Call to Be Kind initiative, a voluntary and personal exercise designed to foster compassion within the workplace. Our goal is to encourage team members to practice empathy, kindness, and care while outlining ways we can build a more compassionate workplace culture, both through outward kindness to others and self-compassion. By encouraging small acts of kindness, we hope to create a more supportive and mentally healthy environment for all.
Mental Health Resources: Today and every day, we have resources available to Team NRI, including our employee assistance programs, emotional wellness resources, and the comprehensive mental health toolkit. The toolkit covers a wide range of helpful topics such as growing resilience, managing anxiety, substance abuse recovery, investing in rest, and effective stress management.
Promoting mental health is an essential part of our company culture. We understand that a strong foundation of well-being is key to personal and professional success. Our recognition of World Mental Health Day reflects our ongoing commitment to creating a workplace where mental health is prioritized, support is readily available, and every team member feels empowered to care for themselves and each other. We aim to continue building a compassionate, resilient workforce that thrives not only in their roles but in their overall well-being.
“Promoting mental health at work is important. We spend a lot of time at work and with our co-workers so we should create an environment where people feel safe both physically and mentally.” – Carly Gordon, People Experience Manager
“As NRI Team Members we all have the ability to support each other’s mental health by way of maintaining a physically and emotionally safe environment, promoting a sense of belonging, and investing in our workplace relationships..” – Adam Crist, People Experience Manager
