For Toad&Co, every day is an adventure. Since the 90s, they’ve been driven by a passion for enjoying life’s simple pleasures, embracing the unexpected, and occasionally letting go to keep spirits high. This philosophy fuels their commitment to the things that truly matter—making the outdoors accessible to all, sourcing the most sustainable materials, partnering with the cleanest factories, and continually seeking new ways to do more with less.
Toad&Co’s story began in 1991 in a Colorado garage, where founder Jessica Nordhaus started sewing toque hats for friends. As demand grew, she named her burgeoning company Horny Toad, inspired by the squat lizards she loved chasing in her New Mexico backyard. From these humble beginnings, the brand has evolved tremendously.
In 2015, they rebranded as Toad&Co to better align with their mission of creating global change through meaningful partnerships. Whether working with manufacturers or retailers, Toad&Co is committed to partnering with those who share their dedication to social and environmental progress. Over the past two decades, Toad&Co has made a remarkable impact: funding 120 environmental protection organizations, employing approximately 400 adults with disabilities, and providing 500 people with once-in-a-lifetime outdoor experiences.
Their commitment to giving back doesn’t stop there. Toad&Co donates 1% of sales to nonprofits that work to make the world a better place. And when customers shop, they have the power to choose which organization benefits from their purchase. Toad&Co’s belief in conservation is clear—they support organizations that work to protect the beautiful places we all cherish, ensuring future generations can continue to enjoy them.
Toad&Co also believes that everyone deserves access to the life-changing magic of the outdoors. They partner with organizations that provide opportunities for people of all abilities and from all communities to experience nature’s wonders.
Good at Every Corner
From the materials they source to the nonprofits they support, Toad&Co’s choices have a significant impact. They actively work to offset their carbon emissions, are a certified California Green Business, and respond quickly when communities are in need.
Better Together
NRI and Toad&Co have been industry friends for many years, first crossing paths at the Outdoor Retailer show in the early 2000s—back when NRI was solely operating in Canada. Fast forward to 2021, when Toad&Co was looking to scale their operations, they turned to a trusted connection: NRI. That initial conversation quickly blossomed into a partnership, with NRI’s Easton, Pennsylvania location becoming the fulfillment hub for Toad&Co.
Over the past few years, our partnership has been tested by supply chain disruptions and market fluctuations, yet it has only grown stronger. Our relationship has evolved into a robust collaboration, built on mutual trust and shared values, proving that together, we can navigate any challenge that comes our way.
“NRI and their people are my favorite!”
